How do I create an account?
+Download Simple Investor from the App Store and tap Sign Up on the login screen. Enter your email and a password. You'll receive a verification email — tap the link to activate your account. The whole process takes under a minute.
I forgot my password. How do I reset it?
+On the login screen, tap Forgot Password? Enter the email address associated with your account. We'll send you a reset link valid for 24 hours. Check your spam folder if you don't see it within a few minutes. If you still have trouble, email us at support@simpleinvestorapp.com.
How do I delete my account?
+You can delete your account directly in the app: go to Profile → Manage Account → Delete Account. Or visit our Account Deletion page to submit a request if you can't access the app. All your data is permanently erased within 30 days.
Can I change my email address?
+Currently, email changes must be handled by our support team. Email us from your current address at support@simpleinvestorapp.com with your new email, and we'll update it within 2 business days. Self-service email changes are on our roadmap.
Does Simple Investor connect to my exchange or wallet?
+No. Simple Investor does not connect to exchanges, wallets, or brokerages. All portfolio data is entered manually. This is a deliberate privacy and security choice — we never have access to your funds, private keys, or exchange API keys. Your assets remain entirely under your control.
How do I add an asset to my portfolio?
+Go to the Portfolio tab and tap the + button in the top right. Search for the asset by name or ticker (e.g., "BTC" or "Bitcoin"). Enter:
- The amount you hold
- Your purchase price (optional, used for P&L calculation)
- Purchase date (optional)
How accurate are the prices?
+Prices are sourced from reputable third-party market data providers and update every 30–60 seconds under normal conditions. During periods of very high market volatility or API provider issues, there may be brief delays. The timestamp of the last price update is shown on each asset card. We always recommend cross-referencing with your exchange for critical decisions.
Which assets are supported?
+Currently we support the top 200 cryptocurrencies by market cap, including BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, ADA, DOGE, DOT, MATIC, AVAX, and more. Support for stocks and ETFs is on our roadmap. If a specific asset you need is missing, email us — we prioritise requests from our users.
How do I set up a price alert?
+Go to the Alerts tab and tap +. Select the asset, then choose the alert type:
- Significant Change: Notifies you when the asset moves by a set percentage (e.g., ±5%) in either direction
- Price Target: Notifies you when the price crosses a specific value
- Daily Summary: One notification per day summarising your portfolio's performance
I'm not receiving push notifications. What should I do?
+Check the following:
- iOS Settings: Go to Settings → Notifications → Simple Investor and make sure notifications are enabled
- Do Not Disturb: Make sure DND or Focus modes are not blocking the app
- Alert toggle: In the Alerts tab, confirm the individual alert toggle is turned ON (green)
- Background refresh: Go to Settings → General → Background App Refresh and enable it for Simple Investor
How does the AI generate its insights?
+Our AI analyses a combination of:
- Macroeconomic data (Fed decisions, inflation figures, USD strength)
- Market structure (BTC dominance, funding rates, fear & greed index)
- Relevant news and regulatory developments
- On-chain signals (exchange flows, miner activity)
How does the Market Simulator work?
+The Simulator applies historical or hypothetical market scenarios to your current portfolio composition. For example, selecting "2008 Financial Crisis" applies the percentage changes that crypto-correlated assets experienced during that period to your holdings, showing you what your portfolio value might have been.
Important: Simulations are hypothetical models for educational purposes only. Crypto assets didn't exist in 2008 — the Simulator uses correlated asset data and statistical modelling. Past performance does not predict future results.

What data does Simple Investor collect?
+We collect your email address, the portfolio data you manually enter, and basic usage analytics (app version, crash reports, feature usage). We do not collect persistent device identifiers, location data, or connect to your financial accounts. Full details in our Privacy Policy.
Do you sell my data?
+No. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers. Your data is used solely to provide the Service. We are a Polish company fully compliant with GDPR. See our Privacy Policy for complete details.
How do I request a copy of my data (GDPR)?
+Email privacy@simpleinvestorapp.com with the subject line "Data Access Request". Include the email address associated with your account. We will provide a machine-readable export of all your personal data within 30 days (we aim for 5 business days).
Is Simple Investor free?
+Yes, Simple Investor is free to download and use. All core features — portfolio tracking, AI insights, alerts, and scenario simulator — are available at no charge. If we introduce premium features in the future, the free tier will continue to be functional and useful. We'll give existing users plenty of notice.
How do I cancel a subscription?
+Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not us. To cancel:
- Open Settings on your iPhone
- Tap your name → Subscriptions
- Find Simple Investor and tap Cancel Subscription
